Independent Security Evaluators (ISE) is seeking a talented Senior Finance and Accounting Manager.  This is an opportunity to work independently, but also have support when needed, as an accounting team of one.  We are open to hiring either a full time or part time candidate.  Part time candidates will work about 20-30 hours per week.

We are looking for candidates in Maryland and surrounding areas who are willing to come into the office in Baltimore periodically to collaborate with the CEO. The expectation for the first several weeks, during onboarding on the initial training, would be in-office 2-3 times a week and then taper down to about 3-5 times per month.  Our office, in a renovated 19th century mansion with free parking, provides a comfortable, casual, productive, and pet-friendly environment.  Whether remote or in-office, we value flexibility and treating our employees like responsible adults so you will never feel micromanaged.

 

What You’ll Do at ISE:

  • Manage the finance department – currently no direct reports but future potential.
  • Own and manage budget for our 40-person company doing $6 million in revenue
  • Budget, plan, and create scalable financial strategy
  • Perform full month end close
  • Design, implement, evaluate, and make improvements to accounting operations and controls ensuring all policies, rules, and regulations are compliant with applicable standards
  • Prepare financial and statistical statements and reports using your expert Excel skills.
  • Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies
  • Administer accounts payable and accounts receivable functions – rolling client base of 50
  • Maintain payroll records and policy and process payroll
  • Manage financial vendors for mortgages, credit cards, 401k, payroll, etc.
  • Present data and analytics to executive leadership
  • Work with accountants on tax initiatives
  • Manage and analyze cash flow

 

Must Haves:

  • 6-10 years in finance and accounting roles
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition
  • Stay up-to-date with accounting best practices and applicable Federal and state laws
  • Experience with QuickBooks and other financial software experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Background in the following:
    • Financial Audits
    • Experience interacting with clients
    • Small business accounting
    • Payroll

 

Nice-to-Haves:

  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Previous experience with ADP, BILL.com, and/or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Familiarity with Maryland and California tax and payroll regulation
  • Previous experience bookkeeping with a cybersecurity consulting agency

 

Full Time Salary:

$90K-$120K, according to experience

 

Part Time Hourly Rate:

$60-$70/hour, according to experience
